Digital printing is presently at the centre of everyone’s attention due to its fast evolution; especially in terms of performance and quality.

Alongside it is rapidly growing the demand for top quality finishing for such printed products.

This has led Meccanotecnica to develop: UNIVERSE INLINE, a solution within the new range UNIVERSE  DIGITALINE.

This unit, in combination with UNIVERSE SEWING, represent an original solution that starting from a pile of sheets delivers sewn book blocks ready for trimming or casing in.

Thanks to its modular configuration, UNIVERSE INLINE  can be composed up to 4 stations for sewn books preparation.

UNIVERSE NIPPING is a press for book block that uses a system covered by Meccanotecnica patent. The high pressure (25.000N) delivers a tighter book blockwhich  results in higher quality products.

UNIVERSE END PAPERING : Applies the end sheets to the book block. It is composed of two end-sheets feeders and a gluing system (with two nozzles). Hot melt or cold glue can be used.

UNIVERSE LINING
This module apllies gauze/reinforcing paper to a sewn book block. The gluing is achieved via three coating guns, one for the spine of the block and two for the sides. A single pre-melter is provided. It has two separate tanks, one for the nozzle and one for the side. It can be re-filled while the machine is in operation. The glue can be EVA hot melt or PUR.

 UNIVERSE SOFT-COVER
This device applies a soft cover to a sewn book block. The gluing system is the same provided for the UNIVERSE LINING. Each station can be present individually or in any combination allowing for maximum flexibility.

After the processing through the different stations, the books can be delivered on the universe stacker or UNIVERSE TRIMMING .
